Moving day

Jess and I are finally all moved into our new apartment. It took us about a week to get all the boxes unpacked; but we are finally finished. DSL is up and running and DirecTV is installed. And now the wedding is a mere 18 days away. Unbelievable! We went from 18 months to 18 days in what seemed like the blink of an eye. We are busy tying up all the loose ends and are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the first guests in 14 days. Looking forward to seeing everyone very soon.

Enchilada

Just thought I would share with everyone that iTunes has the audio book version of the 9/11 commission report available for download for 4.95. It is about 21 hours long. I am through hour number 3. Lets just say it was...disturbing. So I saw the new Taco Bell TV spot for the "Grilled Stuft' Enchilada"...an enchilada with the sauce on the inside...sounds crazy I know, but it looked damn good. So good in fact that I thought I would go on over an pick one up for lunch today....WHAT!!! You don't sell the "Grilled Stuft' Enchilada" yet. I ran for the border and INS closed it down. In a related story Apple announced the iPod Shuffle a couple weeks ago...You can't get your hands on that thing until March 1, from their website any way. eBay has tons for sale, so that got me thinking... I did an eBay search for "Grilled Stuft' Enchilada" but alas, none for sale. What is the big idea...you get me all hyped up about Enchiladas and music players and I can't go buy it right now. WTF!! Speaking of things that are F***ed up, did anyone see Bush's Sate of the Union Address?

Happy New Year

Well, as you can see, I haven't posted in a while. Not really that busy, just lazy I guess. Jess and I headed to Tennessee just after Christmas and spent a week there. While we were there, Bam Bam had his yearly Checkup at the vet. His teeth were in pretty bad shape. No matter what we would do, his breath was always horrible and he had gingivitis. As it turned out, Bam Bam had a genetic "issue" that made his gums pull away from his teeth causing pockets to form. Bacteria grew in these pockets and caused his jaw bones to deteriorate... To make a long story short, Bam Bam had nearly all of his teeth removed. He has 4 molars and his 4 canines left. He is the model of health otherwise. Jess and I are doing well. Getting a little stressed out as we are now less than 4 months away from the wedding. Learning how to use our new miniDV camera as well as non-linear video editing. Frontline Health is doing well, the 2 year anniversary is next week. If anyone needs CPR, First Aid or Lifeguard Training, let me know. I am still teaching swimming on a limited basis, 2 half days a week. We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the wedding very soon.

Christmas Away from Home

This will be my first Christmas not spent with my mom dad and sister and my second Christmas away from Tennessee. I previously spen one Christmas in Washington D.C. ; but my family was there. Jess and I started our Christmas rotation last year. She spent Christmas with me so this year I spend Christmas in NYC. It will be interesting to see what traditions her family has. I started and finished all my shopping on Monday. Jess is done with her shopping for the most part...I think she just has to get a few things tomorrow. We are going to Tennessee on Monday the 27th and will be spending the new year there. We took Bam Bam to a pet photographer a few weeks ago and we got his "Glamour Shots" today. If you get a Christmas card late it is beacuse we were waiting to get the pics to put in the cards. I have posted 3 of the better shots here. Have a Merry Christmas!!!

Vietnam II

I just finished watching "Fahrenheit 9/11" What a disturbing film. People, if you have not seen this film you must watch it. If I had the money I would have paid for this film to be broadcast in all of those "red" states. The current administration has sacraficed the lives of innocent people for oil money so that they can continue to fund the unethical business practices. Blood money! absolutely apalling. The death toll for American Soldiers killed in Iraq alone is approaching half of those killed in the 9/11 attacks - which by the way had absolutely no connection to Iraq. If you factor in the number of innocent bystanders killed.......Vietnam II. I think we will still be in Iraq 4 years from now. Let's hope for an impeachment! I'm not usually that vocal when it comes to politics, but people open your eyes.

I met Phillip Fulmer

Of all the Starbucks in all the towns. I just had a 10 minute conversation with Phillip Fulmer, head coach of the Tennessee Volunteers, in Starbucks on 50th and Park in NYC. He is extremely nice and down to earth. I told him I was a UT graduate from 1999 and he stopped what he was doing to ask me my name and what my major was and what I was doing now. How did you end up in NY, he asked. That is a question that seems to be on the mind of everyone from Tennessee when they find out that anyone has left the south to come to The City. He said he was going to go buy some gifts for his daughters at the Bazzar at St. Barts Church which was just across the street and is where my office is located.

9 months to go

We find ourselves a little over nine months away from the wedding...Things are heating up. Jess and I spent about 6 hours on Saturday setting up our first wedding registry at Macy's. It was an exhausting and exciting experience. There is nothing quite like the fun you can have shooting a laser gun at inanimate kitchen appliances and dinnerware. Sounds like an idea for an xbox or playstation game. We are also in the process of hiring our photo, video, and dj vendors. Our save the date cards should be in your hands by August 6 if all goes well with the printer.

NFL Sunday Ticket

Great News!!!!! I can now see all the Tennessee Titans games this season from the comfort of my own coutch....that's right I got DirecTV!!!!! HDTV to follow soon, I hope! We went to a wedding showcase tonight. There was a band we liked, but we are still leaning toward a DJ. We have just over a year left but we are gettting so excited about all the planning. There will be a few surprises, so I hope everyone is ready!

Jess bought her Wedding Dress

Jessica bought her wedding dress this weekend. I hear it is gorgeous...but that is all I hear, of course, I am not allowed to know any of the other details. My schedule is pretty crazy now with it being both the busy season for swimming lessons and for CPR Training. In the next two months we have 8 Weddings and showers to attend. No time for a vacation. I wish I could take one....wait a minute, now I am starting to sound like Jess.

yet another facelift

Well, I wasn't happy with the yellow, red ,and blue theme for the website. I have changed the theme yet again. The "S" logo is a replica of the Superman logo used by artist Alex Ross in "The Kingdom" and is shown courtesy DC Comics. The "W" is my weak attempt at making it look similar to the "S". I am still writing the photo pages and resizing the pictures...they will be fixed soon.

Another face lift

I have changed the look of the site once again. There isnt any new content except for pics in the moblog section. The new interface is a work in progress. I have just laid down the basic color scheme red, yellow, and blue...Superman anyone? New graphics will follow soon. When the look is finally finished, I will resize some of the engagement photos, some of you have complained that when you click on the thumbnails you see a really small picture. That is because I was in a rush to get them posted so I did a batch convert to shrink all the pictures down to 30%. When your pictures came from a 3.0 megapixel camera or better, this is fine, but some of the photos were taken with a 1.3 megapixel camera...I digress. I also redesigned frontlinehealth.com it looks more professional now and inclueds a schedule of classes, email forms and prices. Let me know what you think. And finally...... Could someone please tell my lovely fiance that "saving for the wedding" does not mean "saving for a vacation to Puerto Rico"!

Engagement Party

Saturday Night was Jessica and my Engagement Party. What an amazing night! There were about 100 people there. The room was decorated beautifully by Jess' Parents. The food and dj were nicely done also. It was wonderful to have so many friends and Family members there with us. Here are some pics. In the mean time, there are a couple of photos posted to my moblog. Thank you to everyone involved in making Saturday Night Special. We look forward to seeing everyone at the wedding, May 7, 2005.
